North Coast Dominican Republic

We are planning to sail dayhops along the North coast of the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana (on the East) via Samana to Luperon. Most anchorages look open to N or NE wind and swell. Any experiences/suggestions on anchorages or passagemaking downwind welcome.
