By the way, for those of you who do check this out, I highly recommend using the e-drawings version. The e-drawings viewer lets you do some pretty cool stuff like viewing in cross section, viewing individual piece-parts, and even marking up.
The cross sectioning tool is really great. You can choose where you want the cross section by clicking on the sectioning plane and moving it.
You can also grab a part and move it around.
If anyone has any ideas, feel free to use the markup tool.
Cheers,
Rick

Updated...
* All standing rigging
* Helm added
The hull needs work. I had a tough time with the sections and the keel portion didn't fair well. Anyone here know where I could find those sections :?: :wink:

The viewer does a lot more than just let you move the view around. If you click on the UI button, it will open up another pane showing the assembly tree. You can then move components, hide them, make them transparent, etc. You can also create a section view right through the model. It's pretty cool. The model is very detailed. You can zoom right up to the mast fittings and see the nuts, bolts, washers, cotter pins, etc.
The next tough step will be modeling the lifelines.

I've also loaded a VRML version in case anyone's interested in that.
To have more fun with the e-drawing viewer try these things:
Make sure the UI button is pressed
Go to the hull2-Hull+Deck-1 item in the component tree
Right click and select Make Transparent
You now have a see-through of the hull
Also try this:
Find the component masthead-3
Right click on it in the component tree and select Hide Others
Type F on your keyboard
You are now zoomed up on the masthead assembly
Click the Move button on the top of the screen
Select any component and move it around
Right-click the component and select Undo Move to put it back
For best results, use a 3 button wheel mouse.
+ The wheel will zoom in and out.
+ Hold down the wheel mouse to move the view around.
+ Ctrl+hold wheel will pan left and right
+ Shift+hold wheel will move in and out.
