I want to take my 35' Endevour from Charleston Sc. to Galveston Texas in December. What is the Atlantic going to be like at that time of year. My plan is to go outside the entire way and when I leave Key West cut straight across the Gulf to Galveston circleing a little low to miss some of the oil rig mess around Louisiana. I don't have an offshore life raft but feel my inflatable dingy should be sufficient should anything occur. I'm just looking for some tips from anyone who has made this trip before. THis will be my longest offshore sail. I'm pretty confident about the trip but am very cautious about all of the obstructions in the gulf when getting close to Galveston.
