I just bought a hunter 34 and am planning on sailing to Virgin Islands for work, I would like advice on what I need as far as GPS, radio, chartplotter, radar, etc. I know I need these things but I would like info on what is best, all in one systems, etc. also, do any of you run an PC based software that controls radar, GPS and the like? I am looking for the most cost effective method without sacrificing the minimum requirements of saftey. . . I also would like to convert my boat into a "self-sustaining" vessel if you will. I mean that I would like to ad a way to generate power, soloar panels, wind gen. Also, a water maker. . . any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
