Does anyone know of a sailing instructor that offers lessons for learning how to sail while cruising for 7days. My wife and I would love to learn how to sail, but have no experience yet. The closest I have come is barefoot cruising. We are both very practical and hard workers. We would be happy to do all our own cooking too, if we could find the right situation. We are in Texas but could travel elswhere.

Ocean Sailing Academy specializes in these services. I have never used them, but they've been in business for quite some time, so that speaks well for them. http://www.oceansailingacademy.com is their website. Best of luck!

My husband and I are heading down to the BVI to Fairwinds Sailing School - leaving out of Nanny Cay next Friday. I'll let you know how it is!

The easiest way is by crewing on a boat that is going somewhere...
Like right now I need to take my boat north...

Usually people come along for different legs..St Thomas to say Turks and Cacois or Georgetown Bahamas or nassua to the states..

It always seem strange to me..
People either pay to sail or want to be paid for sailing a boat somewhere but I have the hardest time just finding people who want to go for basically free....
