I am looking at restoring a 1930's Alden cutter with a bowsprit of 5'. I like the look of Butlers and Hess's longer bowsprit's of 15'and 8' respectively. Besides having the longer bowsprit reviewed by the designers, does anyone have experience, pros and cons, with extending or adding one?
