View Full Version : How about a Baltic 37 for cruising

While searching a boat to realize our plans, i fell in love with a Baltic 37 (yeah i know, love makes blind).
We planned a circumnavigation, the classic way (leaving holland, head for the carib, pacific, south africa, carib again and back to holland), or the hard way (skip the carib the first time and instead going south via brasil and patagonia).
I know that any experienced sailor might suggest a steal boat, but as an offshore racer, i still prefer plastic. And especially the old-style IOR designs (like Baltic, Swan, Kalik, etc) make my heart run faster.
Back on topic, is anyone here experienced with the Baltics, how do they suit for cruising, and what about seaworthiness?

Talk to Bob Perry, the naval arch. www.perryboat.com He can, for a small fee, tell you all you ever wanted to know about any boat.

Found this on a google search at http://www.balticyachts.com/

Thanks for your reply. I've found, and read the articles about the 37 on the Baltic Yachts website, some time ago.
But i'm looking for tests, or better, cruising and sailing experience about this yacht. Anyone?
