Hello,
I am still trying to wire up the cable from my ICOM M802 SSB to my SCS PCT-IIe modem. A cable came with the radio with the end that plugs into the SSB already made up, but just bare wires on the other (modem) end. I needed a blank 8pin DIN plug to solder to the wires. I ordered a few blank plugs and was preparing to start soldering when I decided to plug the blank plug into the modem, and low and behold it doesn't fit!!!! The 8-pin plugs I bought are slightly smaller than the 8-pin female recepticle on the modem (which by the way is the same size plug as the one into the SSB). What I did not realize is that there is obviously more than one size of the 8pin DIN plug.

Anybody have and idea how many different sizes of these plugs there are and how I specify which one I need??? I am getting close to giving up and doling out the $40+ for a ready made cable :?

Thanks in advance for the help.

and look carefully at the holes on the plug, ... there are many designs of plugs, you got the wrong one,
call Mies Electronics in FT Lauderdale florida tell him what you have and he will provide what you need,,,,,,,,,,,,DO NOT FORCE IT OR IF YOU DO FORGET IT, CUZ YOU KILLED IT
