One post was probably enough, now, it's getting a little tacky.

I wonder if Fred & others will be as loyal to Phil as they were the first time CW changed the format?

omsailor!
My loyalty is not to Herb, or Phil, or Cruising World Magazine, or Trailor Sailor or World Publications. It is to the fine people who I have come to know who post on these boards. If the format interferes with the communication as I believe it does in this flat format, then it is not the board for me.
When Cruising World returned to the threaded format, I came back out of gratitude for Herb's efforts on our behalf.
I don't consider this a betrayal of Herb or Phil to change boards. Like any good institution, the value of the BBS transcends any individual and can survive and retain its character when all of the founders have moved on and been replaced by other participants. Some will move on if the BBS fails to meet their needs. I have no hard feelings, just a touch of sadness about this.

I didn't mind the odd post announcing an alternate board but, when somebody takes the trouble to register to make sure that every post on this board carries the announcement, it's going a bit beyond information into whining.
You wouldn't want to deny letting new posters here know that they can go to the new threaded (just like the old CWBB) Crusing Sailors BB at

would you?

They know already!! Knock it off!!
Really, you're as bad as "hi, it's me again". Oh... I get it! You're trying to increase the failure rate of the new board stye by peppering it with trash posts.

There are plenty of other ways to recruit new CSBB denizens without continuing to test just how far the corporate WorldPUb fools who couldn't see the value of keeping the CWBB up will let you go before they block you.
I'm on 9 (now 10) boards...they're all like this one, except for the now defunct CWBB and the new CSBB. I scroll all the othersat least daily--and will also scroll this 10th one-- looking for potty problems I can help solve...but the only one I actually ever scrolled through ALL the headers for anything interesing was the the CWBB...it--and the new CSBB--are kinda like dropping into the local waterfront pub to see what's happenin'.
And that's just what I intend to keep doing--scroll 9 forums for posts to which I can contribute something useful, and the CSBB to see what my friends are up to AND for anything to which I can contribute something useful.
So IMO, it's not necessary to choose whether you post here or on the CSBB...only to replace one bookmark and add another.
Iow, Fred...yes, the suits at WorldPub are indeed totally clueless (whatever possessed 'em to buy CW in the first place, if they don't know the first thing about cruising sailors????...'Twould be like me thinking I could write a book on sail trim!)...but that doesn't excuse US from showing just a LITTLE class...and ya gotta admit that using their boards and bandwidth to draw people away from their site IS kinda classless.
You are probably right, Peggie. But I just get so damn excited about CSBB I want to shi.......er, ah....well I get gas. But, hey. You shouldn't be mentioning 'class' and CW suits in the same breath.

Fred
I normally only post on topic but you're getting like some of the folks who clutter up sites and I don't think that is your intent.
Peggy said it right -- if you don't like it leave
If you have something of value to add -- add it
If all you want to do is say go somewhere else -- don't bother we all know it exists and have already book marked it if we're interested.
Personally I find this format much easier [and is on every board but 1 [you know where]] I visit as I don't have to open up each line to see if the person had anything of value to say below the header.
So let's let it be and learn or just go sailing. :)
