Hello - I am trying to find out the location of a port I saw on TV some time ago. It is located in Europe, there is a pub there where people from all over the world are sharing their stories. The pub also has a Postal Office in it where you can collect your mail if you are normally on the high seas and people can write to you via this Post office.
One of the most recognisable things about this port is that when you arrive by boat and make use of the pub and the post office, you can also perform your own painting on a wall by the sea, like lots of other sea visitors prior.
Can anyone recognise this port and tell me the name?
Regards, Jamie
Horta, Faial, Azores. Check out Webb Chiles' description: http://www.inthepresentsea.com/azores1994.html
We have been in Peter's Sports Bar in Horta (we even got a t-shirt, one of the 10 most exclusive in the world, haha)
If you're there with your boat it's bad luck not to put your logo on the seawall.
Have a look at these 2 pictures. One is of Duncan sitting on the seawall surrounded by the artwork of previous boats. The other is Moose's contribution.

The Azores are part of Portugal and are really hospitable, interesting and very pleasant to visit; if you are there in July you will see the rampant flowers on Flores (don't miss this island, even if it looks tempting on the chart to sail by!), they are unbelievable and in August you will be in time for all sorts of "festas" (festivals) on all the other islands. We were there in 2001 and had a great 2 months on different islands.
A good way to spend the summer is in the Azores!
