I'm collecting info about cruising the Maritime provinces of Canada next summer, starting in Lake Erie. After cruising out the Seaway and East, I was thinking of heading south towards Maine and eventually the Chesapeake.

Learning about cruising guides, routes, weather patterns, currents, tides, as well as great ports, parks, events and other items of interest is important, but I welcome any input and advice.

So I can take my time and wait for the best weather, tides, etc., I'm thinking I may want to spread the cruise over 2 years. That would mean leaving the boat over at least 1 winter, so ports and yards to do that would be of interest to me.
