Looking for any advice on sailing and exploring the Caribbean leaving from Southeast Florida, Ft. Pierce area. My plans are to leave in January and be back in Florida sometime in late April, early May. Is this a good amount of time? Any suggestions on a good route/time-table? Thanks
Get a copy of The Gentlemans Guide to Passages South. This is the bible for what you are planning.
However on your timescale most people would be happy to explore the Bahamas and MAYBE Cuba if you are very adventurous.
Do be aware that you can wait for weeks at that time of year for a good weather window to cross the Gulf stream to get to the Bahamas.
