The threaded clevis pins at both ends of 15' length of anchor chain are corroded and frozen in place. I've tried "3 in 1" oil, penetrating oil, heat (a torch) and physical persuasion, all to no avail. One of these days we'll want to replace the 180' of 5/8' line. Anyone have an idea? Thanks.
Okay, folks, I found a fix, at least for my situation. I dipped the clevis into a jar with muriatic acid, used around here to get the scumline off the hull. Don't know what it reacted to, but there was much bubbling and frothing for a minute or so. When I rinsed it off, the pin was loose. I've safety-wired it so it'll stay in but will move it now & then to keep it from siezing again.
