Thread: Renaming boat

    Smile Renaming boat

Is there a website where I can find the protocol of renaming boats?
I understand the correct protocol must be followed to appease Neptune otherwise dire consequences may occur at sea!

May not be much help here, but I do remember reading in a magazine awhile ago where a couple went through a bit of a ceremony. You are required to take anything with the old name on it...bell, towels, hats etc. Throw it overboard(not recommended due to maritime dumping regs), maybe just a piece of paper with the old name on it...and dispose of the old stuff in landfill...
Ask Poseidon or Neptune to deliver the goods to Davy Jones Locker and strike the old name from His scrolls and add "New Name". As a gift to the Sea Gods, some sort of offering in the likes of wine or rum must be poured into the water as thanks and a blessing of safe seas from said Gods...

Hope this helps! It has kept me safe and lucky so far since I changed my boats name.

    Cool Re: Renaming boat

Go to http://Phixius.org and click on the link Denamin and Renamind plus lettering. I went through that process once and will be doing it again once USCG papers come back.
