Hi, we’re retired newbie’s to the Caribbean at least as far as cruising on our own vessel. We are in our 70's, healthy and want to have fun. We’re retired and just purchased a 72’ Hatteras. We want to cruise as much of the Caribbean as is fun. We want to go to Reo Dulce in Guatemala around July or August and get some nice wood paneling done.
I have a lot of experience from Ensenada to the Aleutian Islands and all states and coast line in-between on the west coast all sizes of vessels. I have run out of the Miami area a long time ago, and Ft. Meyers to the Keys.
We would like to join a couple other vessels leaving for the Bahamas, Caribbean, Central America. I’ve heard of local VHF stations that broadcast daily reports, but not sure how to find them. We’re trying to get good information like what kind of TV/Internet system, etc. Any info would be appreciated as to groups of cruisers, etc.
The survey says we draw 7’, another opinion says 6’ and one more says 5.5’. I guess time will tell.
We’re looking to hire a mid age couple for maintenance and cleaning cooking. They would have their own room, etc. and cruise the Caribbean and Central America. Please drop a line to us, thanks.
