Let`s just say that I know this guy who has a boat, but no engine. He has a soild and well built yuloh for propulsion. The boat is 8 ton, 29ft long with a 3/4 fullkeel and draws 1.6 meters. He`d demast and send it. Time is on his side and is just nuts enough to contemplate the notion of a trip on the inlandwaterways of Europe, north to south through the Canal di Midi for example. My question to this cruising world forum is, could yulohing the canal be done instead of using an engine? What would be his obstacles besides depth vs. draft for the trip?
